This GRDC National Grower Network (NGN) project is focused on improving understanding of micronutrient requirements for pulse crops grown in Western Australia. While macronutrient management is relatively well understood, uncertainty remains around the role of micronutrients and how they can be used to optimise crop performance and profitability. The project aims to provide practical, evidence-based guidance that supports growers and advisers in making informed nutrition decisions.
Key Outcomes
- The project targets six key pulse crops: chickpeas, field peas, lentils, lupins, faba beans and vetch.
- Research will investigate micronutrient requirements and support management strategies through glasshouse studies and field demonstrations.
- The project will deliver practical recommendations, decision-support resources and extension activities to improve grower confidence and adoption of best-practice micronutrient management.
