Living Farm’s Graduate Program is a two-year program, designed to launch your career in the agricultural research industry.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity invites recent graduates to delve into the forefront of agricultural research, where they will collaborate with professionals and researchers to tackle pressing challenges facing the agricultural industry.
As a participant in our program, you will have the chance to contribute to ground breaking projects spanning a diverse range of disciplines. The program takes graduates through a structured process involving learning, mentoring and training.
Our Graduate Program has a strong emphasis on linking academic learning to practical experience, by providing hands on mentorship and placing you in a real world role where you can apply your academic knowledge, take ownership of key responsibilities, and actively contribute to meaningful outcomes.

 

GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
University graduates may have opportunities within roles such as:

  • Graduate Research Agronomist
  • Field Research Technician
  • Graduate roles typically involve a combination of field-based work, scientific data collection, crop assessments, machinery operations, trial management, reporting and working alongside experienced agronomists and researchers.

Successful candidates will be confident and capable in the following areas by the end of the program:

  • Managing established trial programs in line with protocols
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with growers, clients, and team members
  • Safely applying agrichemicals and other maintenance treatments throughout the trial period
  • Monitoring trial progress, conducting assessments, and recording accurate data
  • Delivering data and final reports on time, within guidelines, and to a high standard

Please note: this role involves overnight travel and extended hours during peak periods.

 

WHAT WE OFFER
The Living Farm Graduate Program runs for 24 months and graduates will work as part of the business on real projects. Through hands on experience, mentorship, and access to state of the art equipment, you will hone your skills, expand your knowledge, and make a tangible impact on the future of agriculture.
During the program graduates will gain exposure to different grain growing regions in Western Australia, farming systems and research administration. The graduate positions are located in York, with travel to all grain growing regions required for project work. There will be opportunities to work on diverse programs spanning agriculture, environmental and horticultural projects.
Graduates will be full time employees and paid a competitive salary. Upon the completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to apply for permanent roles within the business.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
To be considered for the Living Farm Graduate Program you will:

  • Have recently completed a Bachelor in Agricultural Science, Agriculture, Farm Management, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Diploma in Agriculture, or a closely related field.
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to a career at Living Farm.
  • Demonstrated passion for agriculture and commitment to a long-term career in the industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be prepared to be flexible in where you are prepared to reside (i.e. regionally).
  • Hold an Australian driver’s license.
  • All candidates are to meet residency requirements by holding Australian/ New Zealand Citizenship or a valid Australian Permanent Resident Visa.
